Data from external database in SSRS

Hi All,

We are working on AX 2009. I have a requirement to fetch data in SSRS from external database preferably using ODBC connection. I know we could call the AX method with ODBC code in SSRS data method. But is their any possibility to query any external Database from SSRS directly without calling any method or class in AX.
